A giant “Thank You” to the 150+ people who made our 12th Annual Halloween Dance a huge success! We are seriously humbled by all of your support throughout this year. We are officially done with dance business for 2015 and look forward to continuing our quest to spread Lindy Hop in 2016. In the meantime, take a look at this list of upcoming opportunities for this fall and new lessons starting in February…

Every Thursday – SwinGallery offers lessons and a social dance at Leapin’ Lizard Lounge – Covington, KY

November 6th – CincyLX‘s Monthly Dance at Molly Malone’s 8pm – Cincinnati

November 28th Smorgasboard of Swing – Cincinnati

December 18th – Naptown Stomp‘s dance at Fountain Square featuring The Big Swing Band – Indianapolis

January 1st – CincyLX presents the live music of ‘Midwestern Swing’, playing on New Years Day at their monthly dance at Molly Malone’s 8pm –  Cincinnati.

January 30th – Vu-Do Swing‘s first dance of the year! Enjoy dancing to music from the library of Gus and Brian – collectors of Big Band music for more than a decade. Free beginners Swing lesson a 8pm, open dancing 8:30 to Midnight. C.I. Beaver Hall – 3696 Highmont Street, Beavercreek 45432 $5 Admission – DJ’d Dance. Free parking and refreshments.

February 16th and 17th – Vu-Do Swing starts their new set of classes through the City of Beavercreek Parks and Recreation.

  • February 16th – Introduction to Ballroom: Every Tuesday for six weeks. 7-8pmThe perfect way to sample six Ballroom Dances in a short amount of time. This class will introduce the dances of Waltz, Cha Cha, Rumba, Tango, Fox Trot and Swing; each class will focus on one dance. With focus on beginner’s steps, fundamentals of lead and follow skills, dance etiquette and music selection, you will be ready to hit the dance floor at that upcoming wedding or party.

    Class is held at C.I. Beaver Hall. Resident fees: $70 per couple or $40 per person. Non-Resident Fees: $80 per couple or $45 per person. Call 937-427-5514 to register.

  • February 17th – Swing One: Every Wednesday for three weeks. 7:30-8:30pmSwing I focuses on beginner’s Swing and introduces strong lead and follow techniques that are useful in any dance style. Class is for students who have never danced before, or have the need to brush up on the basics. Gus and Jessica Vu have been Swing Dancing together since 1997 and have a combined total of more than 34 years of dance experience.

    Resident fees: $45/couple or $30/individual (take both Swing I and II for $70) Non-Resident Fees: $50/couple; $35/individual; Swing I and II $80. Call 937-427-5514 to register.

  • March 9th – Swing Two: Every Wednesday for three weeks. (A continuation of Swing One) 7:30-8:30pm
    Swing II introduces Lindy Hop- the original Swing Dance, and will add on variations to get students ready for the social dance floor. Instructors Gus and Jessica Vu have been Swing Dancing together since 1997.

    Resident fees: $45 per couple or $30 per person. (take both Swing I and II for $70) Non-Resident Fees: $50 per couple; $35 per single; Swing I and II $80. Call 937-427-5514 to register.

  • February 16th – Swing Three: Every Tuesday for four weeks. 8:15-9:15pmSwing I and II are required prior to registering for this course. Over this four week course, students will be polishing up their Swing and Lindy Hop. This class changes session to session depending on the class’ requests and instructor’s creativity. Some steps that may be covered include the Charleston, Lindy Swing outs & variations and advanced East Coast Swing variations. Gus and Jessica Vu have been Swing Dancing together since 1997 and have a combined 35 years of dance experience. They host a monthly dance for Swing Dancers of all ages.

    Resident fees: $45 per couple or $30 per person
    Non-Resident Fees: $50 per couple; $35 per single   Call 937-427-5514 to register.

February 27th – Vu-Do Swing‘s Dance: Enjoy dancing to music from the library of Gus and Brian – collectors of Big Band music for more than a decade. Free beginners Swing lesson a 8pm, open dancing 8:30 to Midnight. C.I. Beaver Hall – 3696 Highmont Street, Beavercreek 45432 $5 Admission – DJ’d Dance. Free parking and refreshments.

March 26th – Vu-Do Swing‘s Dance: Featuring the LIVE MUSIC of “Vu-Do Swing Band”.  Free beginners Swing lesson a 8pm, open dancing 8:30 to Midnight. C.I. Beaver Hall – 3696 Highmont Street, Beavercreek 45432 $10 Admission – DJ’d Dance. Free parking and refreshments.
